Drawing is one of the Fine Arts and it is the production or representation of naturalistic or symbolic and imaginary pictures through natural materials or virtual means (art materials such as brushes, charcoal, pencils or art computer programmes). There are many art rhythms, elements and media offering the people interested in art endless possibilities and a big variety of means to express themselves. The process of image making can offer someone with the potential to express his/ her thoughts and feelings in a symbolic way. One’s fantasy can be unfolded like a ball of yarn, providing him/ her with an excellent outlet both at the creator and the observer. There are no limits to what one can create.
Many researches have been conducted and have proven the benefits of art’s therapeutic quality, such as wellbeing, alleviation of mood and one’s psychological state. According to Stuckey and Nobel ‘s article on The connection Between Art, Healing, and Public Health: A Review of Current Literature, 2010, chronic diseases are associated with psychosocial difficulties such as depression and chronic stress contributing to negative health outcomes . Engagement with creative activities has the potential to contribute towards achieving relaxation through discharge and realization.
Pamemmazi offers open art group activities that aim in communication, relaxation, expression and learning new art methods and techniques.
