PAMEMMAZI started as a dream my sister Emma had, who passed away on October 2016, 5.5 after her initial diagnosis. PAMEMMAZI (you might have noticed that Emma’s name is formed when Pame and Mazi are connected in one word, referring to the true founder of our organization) aims to promote psychosocial care of oncology patients, to encourage a well-rounded approach of cancer and to eliminate the social stigma surrounding cancer.

Forum 2017: Psychosomatic Care in Cancer: Empathy, Understanding and Communication

In the PAMEMMAZI Forum that took place on October 20, 2017, a year since Emma passed away to celebrate her life, 300 people attended. The dialogue between oncologists, psychiatrists, psychologists, patients, survivors and families touched our audience with its intimacy, honesty and courage.

PAMEMMAZI, LET’S DEAL WITH CANCER DIFFERENTLY

The organization or the 9th Race for the Cure last Sunday that attracted 36,000 people, reminded us loudly that prevention and timely diagnosis of breast cancer (and other types) save lives. But in dealing with any type of cancer, a key factor is the psychology of the patient, which has a critical role on how the patient responds to treatment.
